Ahh, hello Monday.  We all did our Mothers Day thingies, and thats all well and good.

In Greece...
Greece's credit rating has gone down again! It has plunged from a BB- to a B and is in danger of getting even lower.  I'm confused, don't they get royalties for inventing democracy or something?

In Los Angeles..
...And this is a big one for us, the Lakers are out!  With a 122-86 score to the Mavericks, this was not just embarassing (like Friday's game) but it also took the Lakers out for good.   And with this game, we also say goodbye to Phil Jackson.

In high end real estate...
...The Real Estalker asks the question, Is the high end market in L.A. looking up?  I was wondering the same thing myself last week when I was doing our Wednesday Illustrated Market Update.  I saw a home that had sold for 18 million dollars... meanwhile, for us mortals, we're mad if we have to spend 18 dollars on a meal.  It's looking like there are enough high end deals in the tens of millions going down for us to speculate that the high end market here in Los Angeles is indeed looking up.

What happened this weekend?  April turned to May, but surely something else happened than the necessity to change our calendars.


On a compound in Pakistan....
....Osama bin Laden was killed by a US attack in which no Americans were harmed.   This is an enormous triumph for America, and news about it nearly broke the Internet.  This has led to increased security at LAX and other airports, in the case of an Al-Qaeda retaliation.

In Britain....
...the Royal Wedding happened.  William and Kate are married now.  People wore ridiculous hats.  People threw parties in celebration of the wedding, even here in the States.  Mr. Bean, Dr. Who, and Posh Spice were all in attendance.   But this happened Friday so this bit of news is effectively as Internet-stale as the bread you dropped behind the fridge 3 months ago.

In celebrity real estate...
....Jennifer Aniston is leaving LA in favor of two adjacent condos in the West Village neighborhood of New York City.  I hope at least one of them looks exactly like the condo in Friends, if not both.  She is selling her 5 bedroom in Trousdale Estates for $42 million, so if you have some loose change, just a few coins and tens of millions of dollars should do, you should check it out!

In technology/social media...
....Chris McNicholl has invented what is called a "TweetingSeat" which has two cameras which capture and Tweet the action going on at that bench.  So, if you ever felt like social media was invasive, you're probably all the more scared by this thing.  On a personal note, I think it's both awesome and well designed, but what do I know?
