Weekend round-up!

Well, by the looks of it, people are hating Monday on Twitter.  And it's really gloomy out, so its understandable.  But what happened over the weekend?  We know Coachella happened, and I'm sure everyone who didn't go is bitter and jealous--I know I am.  But outside of Indio, California... 


-As a Friendly Reminder...
It's Tax Day!   If you haven't taken care of that, get on it ASAP!


-In sad news..
45, maybe more, people have been killed across the country due to a deadly storm system consisting of 240 tornados that desecrated the South this weekend.  This is the worst storm to hit the area since 1984 which had a toll of 42 people.  We can only wish the victims of this travesty the best of luck.  Read more here.  And in Southern China, a series of thunderstorms killed 18 as well, with 150 injured.  


In health..
A new study shows that cluelessness may not just be a symptom of being light upstairs, but a warning sign for dementia.  Cluelessness is apparently defined by the inability to tell when someone is lying or being sarcastic.  So, if someone can't tell when you're joking, they obviously have dementia.  This study says so!


In celebrity real estate...
-Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have a new townhouse in Greenwich Village, with the capacity for 250 telephone lines, a real necessity in any modern home.  The Real Estalker covered the whole thing in depth  but in short, the Parker-Broderick family now own this townhouse in Greenwich Village, one townhouse in the West Village, and two homes in the Hamptons!

Weekend round-up!

So, the weekend happened and we've all been too busy to see what happened in the world.  So, what did happen? 
Well, 
-in Los Angeles: 
Los Angeles hosted CicLAvia, a gigantic event hosting tons and tons of cyclists.  Needless to say, being in a car downtown yesterday was worse than usual, and I had the personal misfortune of experiencing that (having foolishly not taken into account what kind of traffic this would create for those of us in cars.)  That having been said, the energy was amazing, and apparently Lance Armstrong was there too!  The event's name is a play on the Spanish word "ciclovía" which simply means "bicycle lane." -in celebrity fantasy land, Encino in this case:
Tori Spelling is selling her Encino house for 3.2 million, which would be 1.1 million above what she paid for it.  It is being listed by Amy Colvin at Hilton & Hyland, whose wedding Tori was recently a bridesmaid in. Follow this story on The Real Estalker! 
-in real estate/technology:
-Zillow acquired the website Postlets which is a real estate website which enables its 500,000 users to create listings that are then cross posted to 13 real estate and social media sites.  The details of the deal went unannounced, but I can only imagine that this will be a lucrative investment for Zillow.  Read about it here! 

-and now for something random, in Eastern Europe: 

A geriatric woman in Georgia (in Eastern Europe, not the US) was on a hunt for copper wire when she inadvertently disconnected the Internet for 90% of Armenia for a whopping 12 hours by snipping the wrong wire.  And you thought it was bad when you used to get kicked off of AOL because someone was calling you.  Read about it!
