Monday: Weekend round-up!

So what happened over the weekend?

In Hollywoodland..
The plaques reading "Hollywoodland Est. 1923" that were stolen from a famous neighborhood in Hollywood were stolen two months ago.  Their theft is finally being investigated, and the case is becoming cold.  Initially, a citizen did try to report the theft but because they are considered city property, residents could not report the theft.  Read more here..

In Bel Air..
The Hotel Bel Air will be re-opening in October with nightly rates of $595.  The rooms all feature large flat-screen TVs, a work space, and some even have heated limestone floors!  They are currently running a Facebook contest in which you can win 3 nights in the hotel; it can't hurt to enter!  Read more here.

On Skid Row..
An indication of the state of the economy, Union Rescue Mission, a shelter on Skid Row, now has to charge for nightly stays.  They now charge $7 a night, but $2 of that is being deposited into a mandatory savings account at Union Rescue Mission.  Read more here..

Have a good week everyone!
